About The Giving of Thanks::Ah yes, it came, we ate, we slept, we shopped.
Thanksgiving really is the true American holiday. I know a lot of people would
argue the 4th of July is, but honestly, what holiday captures the true, modern,
American spirt more than Thanksgiving? Think about it, it sure as hell isn't
Christmas, and it sure isn't Valentines Day. I mean, National Data Backup
Awareness Month, might take the true American month, but Thanksgiving takes the
cake for a true American Holiday. Everything shuts down. Everyone cooks and
eats WAY too much food. Then, the next day, we spend all our money. I will
leave the rest of the holiday analysis to your imagination. (Critical thinking
exercise)
::This Thanksgiving was great. The Don and I got up early to meet up with some of the guys from U.T.C and threw around the pig skin; bruised each other up pretty good; and worked up a good, healthy appetite. The funny thing about how beat up we all are today is that it was flag football. That's right, FLAG. Later, of course, I had dinner with the family and saw, once again, how truly wonderful my life is. The Monster® made a really tasty, pumpkin dessert, and The Don made some great mashed potatoes. I, on the other hand, ate. :: I, however, was amazingly disappointed with the after-Thanksgiving sales offered by retailers. There were some okay deals, but nothing that made me want to jump out of bed at 4:00 a.m. (like last year). Did anyone else feel a need to wake up that early? If so, I would love to know what you got. . . maybe I missed something. Anyways, that's all for now kids. I apologize for the lack of posts recently, but it would seem the entire local blog world has fallen silent. I swear if Trev.org and digitaljeff don't update soon, I am going to give them a cease and desist order and bring them down! Get to work slackers! Trev, I KNOW you had a birthday, and Jeff. . . think of something, maybe make us another sweet Illustrator painting? Also, Jared, fix your emptychairs.net redirect, it's broken. There. . .I'm done -webpablo out!
